Saturday September 12, 2009 you are invited to Marshfield to join MASH and Blue Heron Brewpub for an Oktoberfest party and Big Boil.  The brewpub is going to mash some grains and run into everyones kettle for you to boil and hop as you please, with the idea of using a single hop variety and shoot for 35 IBU's with 25 IBU's at 60 minute addition and the remainder at the end of the boil.  If interested contact Travis at tappr@yahoo.com indicating how much wort you would like. Wort volume is your Pre-Boil volume.  Cost is  $1.00 per gallon.  Some yeast is available too.  Dedline for your registration with Travis is Monday August 24th as he will be placing the grain order.  You are welcome to just show up and watch.  Octoberfest party will have live music and special German food items on the menu.  Enjoy!!!

Saturday November 7th, 2009 is the Annual Teach-a-Friend Homebrew event held outside of Point Brew Supply and O'so Brewing Company.  We are looking for club members to set up brew equipment and brew during the day.  Please call in to sign up.  It will help us promote the event and guarantee you a space. Set up at 9am with brewing to start when the shop opens at 10:00.  We have several interested new brewers wanting to learn the ropes.  Katina also has a fundraising event the same day, food drop off, and food sales.  Hope to see you there.

2010 NHC is coming to Minnesota
 
It was announced at the 2009 National Homebrew Conference that Minnesota would be the next location to host the conference in 2010. The conference will be held on June 17-19 at the Bloomington Sheraton Hotel.   
The conference will include many educational seminars, product demonstrations, a professional brewers night, club night, and many pre-conference activities.  
 More details will follow.
Our Last meeting was Thursday October 1st. 6:30 PM Social gathering for 30 minutes and the general meeting will commence at 7PM. The subject will be "Oktoberfest" The beer, not the party! Oktoberfest is a Marzen style lager.
