The MASH TAP is a joint effort between MASH members and Blue Heron's brewer to design recipes and assist in the brewing of these recipes at Blue Heron for eventual public sale. Our beers are easily identified by the big, olive green MASH tap at the brewpub. Try one today!
We would like to extend a GIANT THANK YOU to Blue Heron's management and brewer for this wonderful opportunity.
UP NEXT ON TAP: Hub City Lager (release date 8/1/11) Marshfield Brewing Co. opened around 1890 and closed in the late 1960's. Their flagship beer was Marshfield Lager. Blue Heron has tried to find the old Marshfield Lager recipe, but being unable to source it, they turned to MASH to help design a pre-prohibition American Lager in the spirit of what Marshfield Lager may have been. 5.5% ABV, 25 IBU's _________________________________________________________ PREVIOUS MASH TAPS:
MASH TAP#4 "Hop Harvest Pale Ale" (details coming) MASH TAP #3 (the work of about 10 MASH members) "Mindblock" (maibock) Details coming... MASH TAP #2 "Luscious Black" by James Vokoun 1-7-2010 Luscious Black is a sweet, full bodied, and oh sooo smooooth blend of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Sometimes referred to as a sweet or milk stout due to use of lactose (milk sugar). This beer is based on James' award winning homebrewed recipe.
MASH TAP #1 "Lazy Otter" by Gary Plank & Travis Skroch 10-01-2009 "Lazy Otter" is an English Special Bitter (E.S.B for short) that features English malts, hops, and yeast. This shimmering golden beer has a slightly sweet and fruity aroma from quirky English yeast, toasty malt presence, and a very British resiny/earthy hop finish that dries the palate. This beer is going to make you want to order up a plate of fish and chips, and I think it is going to go well with a lot of the pub's food. A tad over 5% ABV makes it a wonderful social/sesson beer. |
